Fuel pump spewing large amounts of fuel?
I have a 1962 Willys 226 Hurricane 6. I have had someone trying to screw with it, ie. slashing tires ect. Today, it was a new thing, my fuel pump was spewing fuel, alot! $60 worth. I smelled it, but just figured it was running rich so I kept putting fuel into the tank. When I got home, I parked it in my shop (running) and found the fuel pump was spewing, and I mean just pouring fuel from the fuel pump about 2 or 1 solid streams. Apon seeing that I opened the shop door and pulled out just as soon as the fuel ignited and left a pile of burning fuel on the shop floor in front of my Challenger. Thankfully, only the cement burned and later went out. Do fuel pumps just break, and spew fuel?
