Why are Democrats looking to John McCain for leadership?

Last night on Fox News they were reporting Senate Democrats wanted to vote however John McCain voted on $700,000,000,000.00 Wall Street Bailout? OK so I'm thinking it is Fox News. Then today I heard the same thing on MSNBC and CNN? What is going on? Why are Democrats looking to John McCain for Leadership and not Barack Obama? I am not being sarcastic! I am just confused. I have already seen all the hate filled propaganda from both sides, so feel free to keep the bile to yourselves. I m serious and just trying to figure out what is going on?
